Congratulations to Callie Hamby on winning the 2025 Beta Eta Scholarship! Ms. Hamby plans on attending UNG in the fall and majoring in Elementary Education. Thank you to the local chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma, Beta Eta, for continuing to support our PHS seniors who plan on going into education.
Congratulations to our PHS Class of 2025 recipients of the Big Canoe Chapel Scholarship! Thank you to the BCCS Committee for your continued support of our PHS graduates and their post-secondary educational goals.
Sources of Strength Peer Leaders will be facilitated the “What Helps Me” Campaign during all of the lunch blocks today. This campaign is designed to figure out ways to manage Anger, Anxiety, or Sadness with healthy coping strategies. PHS students identified sources they use to respond to negative emotions in a positive way
Important vaccination requirements for school:
Rising 7th Graders: Must have a Tdap booster and a meningococcal vaccine (MCV4) or submit a medical/religious waiver.
Rising 11th Graders: Need a meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4) booster unless the first dose was received on or after their 16th birthday. A waiver is also required if the booster isn't given.
To support our families, the health department will offer in-school immunizations on Thursday, May 1, 2025, for current 6th and 10th grade students. More details will be sent via email. For questions, contact your school's clinic.

Pickens CTI is proud to say that we were recognized as the school with the greatest donation to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at the state competition. This year, we were able to donate $1800! This was possible thanks to our Jeans Day fundraiser, Valentine's buttons, and a substantial donation to CTI from a private donor. Thank you to all who participated in Jeans Day or bought Valentine's Day buttons.
Students placed in the top three in the state in four categories and the top six in state in one category. Addi Waters- 2nd Place Clinical Skills, Layla Thibodeau- 3rd Place Agricultural Science, Alyssa Coleman- 3rd Place Catering Food Table Set Up, Kolby Rhoades- 3rd Place Automotive Technology Service, and Miranda Black top 6 in Healthcare Science. Everyone who competed worked extremely hard on their projects and deserve recognition. Avery Parker- Cosmetology Hair Design, Kayleigh Dunagan- Metal Working, Daniel Collie- Law, Public Safety, and Security, Joseph Goss- Career Exploration Job Manual, and Ansley Coleman- Early Childhood Education.
Big shout out to the teachers who provided guidance and expertise to the students who competed. Thank you for your continued support of CTI. I cannot wait to see what CTI students accomplish next year.

TOMORROW (Friday, April 18th) is the last day to purchase prom tickets. We do not have a way to sell tickets at the door, so please make sure you secure your tickets immediately. Tickets are $50 per person for all students and are being sold outside the cafeteria from 7:00-7:30 and 10:45-12:45 each day.
