We encourage all students and their families to check the PHS Scholarships page weekly to view any and all scholarship opportunities that are open to PHS students.  Please know that all scholarships that are made available to PHS students from local organizations are posted on this webpage so that all students, their families, staff, and the community can access this information at any time.

Click HERE to view the list of the scholarships that were posted on the PHS Scholarships Webpage during the 2025-26 school year. There is no guarantee that each of these scholarships will be available again for the 2026-27 school year; however, we are hopeful that they will be and that the timeframes will be similar of their application availability as they were last school year!

Below are mostly local, state, and/or some national scholarships that are currently available for students to apply to:

1) 1) Phillip L. Hartley Legacy of Leadership Student Scholarship (posted on 10/8/26)

-This scholarship opportunity is through the GSBA (Georgia School Board Association) and recognizes graduating seniors whose leadership, character, resilience, service and positive impact extend beyond grades and test scores alone.  The scholarship celebrates well-rounded students who demonstrate a commitment to making a difference in their schools and communities. One scholarship will be awarded in each of GSBA’s 14 regions.

-The deadline to apply to this scholarship is October 16th.  Scholarship winners will be notified by November 13th and recognized at the GSBA/GSSA Annual Conference on December 3rd.

2)Autumn Nights Under Hometown Lights Community Scholarship (posted on 8/4/26)

-This scholarship opportunity has been made possible through the generosity of our local event sponsors, vendors, community advocates, and supporters.  This $1,000 scholarship celebrates a graduating PHS Senior from the Class of 2027 who exemplifies leadership, integrity, compassion, and a genuine commitment to serving others.  It is the foundation’s hope that this scholarship not only provides financial support but also encourages the next generation to continue building a strong Pickens County through service, volunteerism, and community involvement.

-Applicants must be a PHS Class of 2027 Senior, submit a 500-word essay answering the question of “What does serving your community mean to you,” provide two references, and a resume/list to reflect your community service, volunteer work, extracurriculars, employment, leadership roles, and civic involvement.

-The application and all of its required documents should be sent as one pdf document to Tracy Kincaid at tkny669@gmail.com by 5pm on Friday, October 30th.

3) Lions Club International “Young Leaders in Service Award” (posted on 8/18/26)

 - The Jasper Lions Club is taking applications for the Lions Club International “Young Leaders in Service Award.”  The purpose of this opportunity is to magnify the community's interest in seeing young people dedicate time to helping others and their community.  The hope is for students to realize that being a part of the Pickens County community truly means being a contributing citizen.

-This is an International recognition award with no monetary value tied to it.  Being recognized locally, state-wide, and internationally are all highly beneficial for individuals applying to jobs, scholarships, and/or college admissions.

-There are two awards to apply to, the Silver Award (completing 50-99 volunteer hours) and the Gold Award (dedicating 100+ volunteer hours).  All volunteer hours being counted towards these awards must have been served in one calendar year; thus, applicants can utilize volunteer/service hours since January 1st, 2026, for this application cycle.

-The cover page and all log sheets with proper signatures must be submitted to the PHS Graduation Coach, Ms. Champion, in PHS Room 410 through November 29th.  As identified in the application, forms may be submitted via email to safimid2019@gmail.com for the month of December.  This is a rolling application in that you can continue to submit log sheets to Ms. Champion by August 30th, September 30th, October 30th, and November 29th as the applications will be picked up the day after those mentioned by the Jasper Lions Club.

4) Beta Eta Scholarship (posted on 8/7/26)

-The Beta Eta Scholarship is available for any PHS Class of 2027 female senior who desires to enter the teaching profession and pursue a career in education.  The scholarship will be awarded to one female senior and it will be a $1,000 scholarship.

-Click HERE to access the scholarship application.  You can type or handwrite your responses to the application.

-All applications and their required documents must be submitted as one complete application to the PHS Graduation Coach, Ms. Champion, in PHS Room 410 by 12pm on Thursday, March 25th, 2027.  The winner will be recognized at the April Beta Eta Meeting and receive her scholarship that night.

The following is a list of scholarship opportunities that were posted on the Current Scholarships page and the deadlines have since passed:

1) PCREA Outstanding Youth Service Leader of the Year Award 2027 (posted on 7/30/26 & the deadline was 8/27/26).

2) The Gates Scholarship (posted on 8/7/26 & the deadline was 9/15/26)

3) Coca-Cola Scholars Program (posted on 8/7/26 & the deadline was 9/30/26)

4) 2027 U.S. Senate Youth Program (posted on 8/7/26 & the deadline was 9/30/26)
