We encourage all students and their families to check the PHS Scholarships page weekly to view any and all scholarship opportunities that are open to PHS students. Please know that all scholarships that are made available to PHS students from local organizations are posted on this webpage so that all students, their families, staff, and the community can access this information at any time.

There is no guarantee that each of these scholarships will be available again for the 25-26 school year; however, we are hopeful that they will be and that the timeframes will be similar of their application availability as they were last school year!
Below are mostly local, state, and/or some national scholarships that are currently available for students to apply to:
1) Lewis Cenker Scholarship (posted on 11/28/25)
-The Lewis Cenker Scholarship was created by the Home Builders Assoc. of Georgia in honor of the late Lewis B. Cenker, who was an outstanding Georgian and national industry leader. Multiple scholarships will be awarded.
-Eligible applicants must be entering an area of study directly related to the home building industry.

-Each applicant will be notified by letter in late April if they are a scholarship recipient or not. The deadline to submit the online application in its entirety is March 15th, 2026.
2) Army ROTC Scholarship (posted on 6/25/25)
-The Army ROTC scholarship pays either 1) all tuition and fees or 2) all housing and food. In return, scholarship recipients commission as Army officers in either the Active Duty Force, the Army Reserves, or the National Guard.
-To get started on your ROTC scholarship application, create an account (Opens in new window) and log in (Opens in new window) to the Scholarship Application via the goarmy.com website. From there, you’ll locate and contact the Recruiting Operations Officer at the college that you plan to attend. In addition, you must apply to the college that you are hoping to attend.

-ROTC scholarship applications opened on June 14, 2025, for the 25-26 school year for high school seniors to apply to. Applications must be started no later than March 4, 2026 to be eligible for review by the Army ROTC National Scholarship Board for the 2025 – 2026 school year. There will be three rounds of reviews by the Board:
-Round 3 is due by March 16th, 2026.
-Round 1 was due by October 13th, 2025.
-Round 2 was due by January 19th, 2026.
3) UNG Army ROTC Scholarship (posted on 11/28/25)
-Awarded Nationally and covers either 1) room and board or 2) tuition and fees (can be used in conjunction with the HOPE Scholarship in Georgia). Awarded as 3- or 4-year scholarship. You will also receive a $420 monthly stipend once you sign your contract and $1,200 per/yr for books and supplies.
-Any Army commission, Active Duty, Reserve or Guard, carries an 8-yr obligation.

-Application Round Deadlines are listed below:
Round 3 is due by March 17th to be reviewed by the board from 3/23-3/27.
Round 1 was due by October 14th to be reviewed by the board from 10/20-10/24.

4) Pickens County Farm Bureau Jerry R. Barnes Scholarship (posted on 10/29/25)
-The Pickens County Farm Bureau will provide one Jerry R. Barnes Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to a PHS senior who intends to pursue a bachelor’s degree in agriculture or an agricultural related field at a public college in Georgia or at Berry College.

-Completed applications are due in their entirety by March 19th, 2026. You can either email them to rehoffbauer@gfbco.org or to the address provided in the info/checklist document.
5) Pickens County Board of Realtors Scholarship (posted on 1/31/26)
-The Pickens County Board of Realtors has arranged for two (2) annual $1,000 scholarships to be awarded to two Pickens County students who chooses to attend any college/university or technical college in the state of Georgia.

-The online scholarship application is due by 5pm on March 19th, 2026. The Pickens County Board of Realtors will notify the winning recipient and they will be recognized at our May PHS Senior Honors Night.
6) Beta Eta Scholarship (posted on 1/31/26)
-The Beta Eta Scholarship is available for any PHS Class of 2026 female senior who desires to enter the teaching profession and pursue a career in education. The scholarship will be awarded to one female senior and it will be a $1,000 scholarship.

-All applications and their required documents must be submitted as one complete application to the PHS Graduation Coach, Ms. Champion, in PHS Room 410 by 12pm on Thursday, March 26th, 2026. The winner will be recognized at the April Beta Eta Meeting and receive her scholarship that night.
7) Tommy Shaw Memorial Award (posted on 2/2/26)
-The Optimist Club of Jasper is honored to offer the Tommy Shaw Memorial Award. This award is in memory of Mr. Tommy Shaw who passed away in 2022 and was truly considered a “Friend of the Community” here in the North Georgia area. This scholarship opportunity is open to any PHS senior who plans on pursuing a post-secondary education in Engineering or a related field.
-One scholarship will be given in a TBA amount and the winner will be announced at the PHS Senior Honors Night in May.

8) Lyda Walden Fletcher Scholarship (posted on 2/25/26)
-The Lyda Walden Fletcher Scholarship is a unique and special scholarship opportunity only made available to seniors of Pickens High School. The Foundation hopes to award up to four scholarships at $1,000 each.
-To be eligible for this scholarship opportunity a PHS senior must be accepted to an accredited two-year or four-year college with the intent of pursuing a baccalaureate degree, has resided in Pickens County for at least 2 years prior to graduation, and must have a GPA of at least 3.5.

-All completed applications must be submitted to the PHS Graduation Coach, Ms. Champion, in PHS Room 410 by 12pm on Thursday, March 26th. The winners of the scholarship will be announced at the May Senior Honors Night.
9) Pickens County Retired Educators Scholarship (posted on 2/26/26)
-This scholarship opportunity is open to all PHS seniors who plan on pursuing a post-secondary degree in the field of teaching. The scholarship award amount is TBA.

10) PHS Work-Based Learning Scholarship (posted on 3/15/26)
-The PHS WBL Scholarship is open to any PHS Senior graduating in May 2026 to apply to that has participated in the PHS WBL and/or YAP Programs.

11) Karen Anne Gurty Memorial Scholarship (posted on 3/8/26)
-The Karen Anne Gurty Memorial Scholarship is in memory of Ms. Gurty who was an incredible employee at PHS and an intricate part of our school. This scholarship opportunity is open to all PHS seniors who plan on enrolling in a post-secondary school after graduating from PHS in May of 2026.
-One scholarship will be given in the amount of $2,000 and the winner will be announced at the PHS Senior Honors Night in May.

12) Georgia FFA Foundation Scholarships (posted on 3/16/26)
-The Georgia FFA Foundation is excited to announce that they have THREE scholarship opportunities available for graduating Class of 2026 Georgia FFA members.
- Georgia's Ford Dealers Scholarship - Georgia Ford Dealers will provide TWENTY (20) $1,000.00 scholarships to award to graduating Class of 2026 Georgia FFA members who plan to attend a post-secondary college to pursue a degree in an agriculture-related field.
-Growing America's Farmers Scholarship - G&R Farms will provide NINE (9) $1,000.00 college scholarships to Class of 2026 Georgia FFA members who plan to further their education in production agriculture and have a career path in this field.
-William & Marihope Troutmant Flatt Scholarship - This $1,000.00 scholarship is for one (1) Georgia FFA member who plans to pursue a degree in Agriculture at the University of Georgia.
-The deadline to apply to these Georgia FFA Foundation Scholarships online is March 30th by 5pm. Each scholarship winner and their FFA Advisor will be notified by the Georgia FFA Foundation in April and he/she will be recognized during the 98th Georgia FFA State Convention (TBA).
13) Ted G. Wilson Memorial Scholarship (posted on 11/28/25)
-The Ted G. Wilson Memorial Scholarship is available to all high school seniors that plan to further their education in the fields of either construction or engineering by attending a four-year college/university. Only those that are a resident of, or plan to attend a school or university in the states where PCEA (Professional Construction Estimators Association) has an established Chapter will qualify. At present, those states are North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. The Scholarship is funded, in part, by the Order of Isosceles Fellowship.

-The deadline to submit this scholarship application in its entirety is March 31st, 2026, and must be mailed by the student to P.O. Box 9146, Charlotte, NC, 28299. PECA will notify the scholarship recipient.
14) iTHINK Community Foundation Scholarship (posted on 3/16/26)
- The iTHINK Community Foundation, founded by iTHINK Financial, gives credit union members the opportunity to apply for a scholarship every year. Graduating high school seniors for the Class of 2026 can apply by writing an essay or creating a video that describes their career goals and how they plan to use the scholarship towards their education. There will be two winners for the state of Georgia.

15) The Breaux Architects STEM Scholarship (posted on 3/18/26)
-This scholarship opportunity is open to all PHS seniors who plan on enrolling in a post-secondary school after graduating from PHS and who will be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) related field and/or in the field of architecture.
-There are two $500 scholarships to be offered for this scholarship and the winners will be announced at the PHS Senior Honors Night in May.

16) Harmony Elementary Alumni Scholarship (posted on 2/25/26)
-Harmony Elementary School (HES) is excited to announce that they will be offering a scholarship to at least one PHS senior who attended HES during his/her elementary years. This scholarship opportunity is open to any PHS senior who attended HES and who plans on attending either a 4 year college or a technical college after they graduate from PHS. There may be more than one recipient depending on the amount of funds raised this year.

-The deadline to submit this scholarship application in its entirety is April 3rd, 2026, and the student must either drop the application off at HES by April 3rd or it must be mailed by the student to HES using the address provided in the scholarship application. The scholarship winner(s) will be announced at the PHS Senior Honors Night in May.
17) Gloria Wentworth STEM Scholarship (posted on 2/26/26)
-The Wentworth Institute of Science and Health (W.I.S.H.) will be awarding six $500 scholarships in 2026, with two of the scholarships specifically slotted for PHS seniors, who plan on pursuing a post-secondary education (at a technical college or a four-year college/university) in the field of STEM (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics).

-The deadline for the submission of the online application will be 11:59pm on April 10th. The winners will be announced at the May PHS Senior Honors Night.
18) Jasper Lions Club Service Scholarship 2026 (posted on 1/31/26)
-The Lions Club works on a variety of projects to help meet the needs of the community. They will be providing two local scholarships in the amount of $1,000 to two Class of 2026 Seniors that will be graduating in May 2026 and who have demonstrated both dedication and service to our community. Any Senior who plans on enrolling as a full-time student at a college/university or a technical college are eligible to apply.

19) 21st Century Leaders Pickens “Lead by Service” Scholarships (posted on 2/25/26)
-The 21st Century Leaders Pickens “Lead by Service” Scholarships are open to 21st Century Leaders Pickens Members only. The committee will be offering two scholarships this school year, the “Jean Chastain Servant Heart Scholarship” ($1000 award to one student) and the “Mila Lane Lead by Service Scholarship” ($800 award to one student). By completing this application you automatically are applying for both of these scholarship opportunities. Both PHS Juniors and Seniors are encouraged to apply.

20) Partners for Educational Excellence Scholarship (posted on 3/13/26)

21) Parrish Construction Group Scholarship (posted on 3/16/26)
-Parrish Construction will be giving away a $2,500 scholarship to a top-notch Georgia high school senior who will be 1) graduating in May of 2026 and 2) will be pursuing a degree in Construction Management or a related field.

22) Sassafras Literary – Maria Boling Scholarship (posted on 1/31/26)
-The Sassafras Literary Group is launching a $500 scholarship in honor of Maria Boling. PHS Seniors are welcome to apply to this scholarship opportunity.

23) Atlanta Postal Credit Union (APCU) Scholarship (posted on 2/2/26)
-APCU is offering a scholarship program that is open to graduating high school seniors who will enroll in and are accepted into an undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school and are members of APCU Center Parc or whose parents, grandparents or legal guardians are members – by the time of entry.

24) WEN of Greater Atlanta “Fueling the Future” Scholarship (posted on 3/9/26)
-The Atlanta Chapter of the Women's Energy Network, through its Fueling the Future scholarship program, is committed to introducing high school students to careers in the energy industry and helping to fuel the energy industry's need for top talent in the future. The Fueling the Future award is a one-time $2,500 scholarship to young women seeking degrees and careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), and ultimately joining the energy industry. PHS female seniors graduating in May 2026 with a 3.0 GPA are eligible to apply to this scholarship.

25) The David Skinner/GDA Scholarship (posted on 11/28/25)
-The David Skinner/GDA (Georgia Development Authority) Scholarship awards scholarships in the amount of $2,400 that will be awarded annually to students enrolled in the study of Agriculture or an Agriculture related field.
-Those applying must be a senior, successfully passed their high school academic requirements, have college entrance exam scores (SAT/ACT) qualifying their admission to an accredited Georgia College, must be a Georgia resident living in a rural county (Pickens is a rural county), and must be pursuing a degree directly related to agriculture.

26) State & National Kappa Kappa Iota, Inc., Educational Grant Application (posted on 3/15/26)
-This scholarship/grant opportunity is open to seniors who plan on going to a four-year college beginning in Fall 2026 to pursue a degree in education.

27) UNG Cadet Leadership Scholarships (posted on 7/16/25)
-Awarded to interested high school students who will be a Cadet at UNG. Scholarships range from $500-$12,000. These scholarships are fully funded by Alumni and donors to the UNG Corps of Cadets.
