Students will take both an individual photo and a class picture. Class photos are PREPAY only if you would like to purchase one.

Monday, March 23rd: Draw a picture of your favorite book character! You can color it too!
Sunday, March 22nd: Listen to an audiobook, podcast, or read aloud online for 20 minutes. Parents of elementary students – YouTube has great read alouds for younger students. Some even by famous people!!
Saturday, March 21st: Read outside or in a new location for a change of scenery. Did it make it more enjoyable?

Today we celebrated World Down Syndrome Day by wearing fun, colorful socks to promote inclusion and acceptance.

Literacy Month Spotlight!
Our Leadership Team students shared their love of reading on Read Across America Day! Students chose which classrooms they wanted to visit—from Pre-K to 4th grade—and did a fabulous job reading to their fellow Hawks. With guidance from Mrs. Bradley, they carefully selected books and practiced for two weeks prior to prepare for this special day.
Reading aloud to peers can feel a little intimidating, but our Leadership Team stepped up with confidence and truly rocked it!
Thursday, March 19th: Write a letter or quick note to the main character of your book. Have a parent help you write your letter, if you need it. What would you say to your favorite character?
Mrs. Anderson’s Pre-K students are exploring community helpers in the most hands-on way! After learning about construction workers, they built homes for their animals using a variety of materials. Young engineers at work!

Lucky Math! 🍀 Mrs. Sultan's first-grade math students graphed Lucky Charms today! What a smart AND tasty way to learn about graphing!
Those sneaky leprechauns got away in Mrs. Dilbeck’s class and even made a mess of the classroom! But our clever kindergartners crafted some amazing traps and had a blast graphing Lucky Charms cereal. Learning + fun = a great day in kindergarten!

Tuesday, March 17th: Happy St. Patrick’s Day!! Celebrate this day by reading about Ireland, traditions of the Irish, leprechauns, or finding a pot of gold. Can’t find a book about St. Patty’s Day? Try writing a creative short story about a St. Patty’s Day character!

To show our support, we invite everyone to wear their most unique, colorful, and fun socks! The tradition of wearing mismatched or brightly patterned socks represents the uniqueness of each individual and helps spark conversations about acceptance and belonging.

Due to the timing of anticipated severe weather and to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and families, all schools in the Pickens County School District and the district office will operate on a two-hour delay on Monday, March 16, 2026.
