  • Loose Leaf Paper, or notebook
  • Tab Dividers
  • Please bring your Chrome book charged and ready to class every day!
  • A dry erase marker to use when at the board,

Final Grades:

Cumulative grade: (summative and formative grades) 80% of the semester grade.

Final Exam grade: 20% of the semester grade.

*Cheating will result in a grade of zero for both parties involved.  Cheating is unacceptable behavior under any circumstance.  Copying another person’s homework, quiz or test are all examples of cheating.  Please keep your papers covered and don’t help someone cheat!  Using a cell phone, or other electronic device, (without permission) while working on an assignment is also cheating, as is using an online translator

**You have 18 weeks to earn a passing grade/the grade you want. It is not up to me whether you pass.

Final exam exemption:  see school policy. Exemptions are based on attendance and average.

 Behavior:

  1. Be polite, respect others, and their belongings.
  2. Be in your seat when the tardy bell rings.
  3. Bring your binder and a writing utensil to class every
  4. Go to your locker, the bathroom, and the pencil sharpener before class begins.
  5. French class is for French work. You can do work for another class only after we’ve finished our French lessons for the day.
  6. Stay awake during class – you can sleep at home.
  7. Homework is due when I ask for it. We will follow a school wide/department policy regarding make up work. No late work will be accepted.

If you are aware of a formative assignment and miss the day it is due, it is due the next day you attend. If you miss an assignment, it is due the day after you receive the work. In general, if you miss a day, work is due the next day. If you miss two days, it is due two days after, up to the five day board policy. Summative assignments will be due within the five day period following an absence. EXCEPTION: If we are working on a project in class and the deadline is posted weeks out, the project is due immediately upon return to class.

  1. Disrespect will not be tolerated.
  2. Cell phones are to be out of sight and turned off at all times during class. Students will put their phones and other devices- smart watches, etc.;  in a numbered bag at the beginning of class each day and can retrieve them once class is over.  We must minimize distractions to enable everyone to be successful!

  1. When in doubt about anything, ask.

Parents: your child’s grades can be monitored by you on Infinite Campus online. Speak to the front office to sign up if you haven’t already done this. Your child’s grade should never be a surprise to you. You are expected to play a role in your child’s success by making sure he/she comes to school and by knowing how well your child is doing in French class. I will not make a weekly habit of contacting you; however, you can email me at any time (see email address at the top of the front of this paper).
