Angela Quarles

Engineering and Technology Education & Audio, Video Technology and Film

Hello!

My name is Angie Quarles and I teach the classes related to the Engineering (STEM) and the Audio, Video, and Film pathways in the CTAE department Pickens High. I have taught at PHS since 2004. Before moving here, I taught the pre-engineering classes at Morrow High School in Clayton County for 9 years and began my teaching career in Gilmer County.

I am married to Barry Quarles, a medic/supervisor for Metro Atlanta Ambulance in Cobb County. We have a son, Luke, who is in the 10th grade here at PHS. We live in Ellijay, along with our yorkie, Lexi and our cat, Lily.

I serve as the advisor to the Pickens High chapter of the Technology Student Association (TSA) and am the president-elect to the Georgia TSA Board of Directors. I also serve as the president of one of the professional organizations for engineering teachers in the state, the Georgia Affiliate of Engineering and Technology Education. I am also on the review board of The Technology and Engineering Teacher, the international professional journal for our field. These extra activities help me to stay on the cutting edge of the engineering programs.
