INTRODUCTION

My name is Curtis Freeman. I have had the pleasure of serving as a special education teacher at PHS since 2010. In all, this is my 17th year teaching. I have a college degree in accounting and a masters degree in special education. Prior to teaching, I was an accountant and a youth / music minister. I teach students in grades 9-12 in the subjects of math, science and social studies. I am so excited to be a Dragon!  Don't miss out on my welcome video below.

CLASS CONTENT

This year, I am teaching the following classes:

Foundations of Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2 & Math of Finance. Depending on the class that you are taking, some of the math concepts open for exploration include: Properties of Numbers, Factoring, Area, Volume, Properties of Shapes, Exponential Equations, Systems of Equations, Polynomials, Relations, Functions, Complex/Imaginary Relationships, Financial Budgeting, Use of Math in the Workplace, etc.

Biology, Environmental Science & Physical Science.  Depending on the class that you are taking, some of the science concepts open for exploration include:  Lab Safety, Scientific Method, Cellular and Atomic Structure, Genetics, Biotech, Energy Cycles and Transformations, Taxonomy, Symbiosis, Properties of Matter, Chemical Bonds, Nuclear Reactions, Environmental Protection, Climate Studies, Biodiversity, etc.

World History, American Government, Economics.  Depending on the class that you are taking, some of the social studies concepts open for exploration include:  The U.S. Constitution, Structure of U.S. and World Governments, Ancient Civilizations, The Middle Ages, The Renaissance, The Industrial Revolution, Effects of Global War, The Modern Society, Fundamentals of Micro and Macro Economics, etc.

Study Skills.  This class to a combination of language building, tutoring, and organization skills.
