Scholarship Information

1) Big Canoe Scholarship

- Please click HERE to view the video on the 2021 Big Canoe Scholarship Process.

- Please click HERE to access the Big Canoe Scholarship website and directions on how to apply for the scholarship for seniors.

- The deadline to submit your application to your school counselor is January 22, 2021.

-You will need to successfully complete your senior profile packet to apply for this scholarship.


2) Bent Tree Foundation Scholarship

- Please click HERE to download a copy of the scholarship application for seniors.  The application must be typed.

- All completed applications and supporting information must be turned in to your school counselor by 12pm on Friday, February 5, 2021.


3) Bent Tree Tennis Community Scholarship

4) The "No Sweat" Scholarship - $2500

- Click HERE for details on the qualifications and how to apply online instructions for this scholarship geared for seniors.

- You will have to create a free student Cirkled In account and then complete your portfolio on that website.

- Deadline to apply for this scholarship online is December 31, 2020.


5) Amicalola EMC 2021 Scholarship

-Beginning December 1st, 2020, Amicalola EMC will be accepting applications for college scholarships. High school seniors are eligible if they live in a household whose electricity is provided by Amicalola EMC.  Winners will be selected based upon grade point average and financial need.  The SAT/ACT test score requirement will be waived for 2021. The deadline for applications is January 29, 2021.

6) DAR Scholarships

-The National Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) offers a number of scholarships to qualifying students.  The application process is open from 11/1/20 through 1/31/2021.  Click HERE to view the view different scholarship opportunities and begin your application process!


7) David Skinner GDA Scholarship

-The David Skinner/Georgia Development Authority Scholarship is awarded annually to students in the amount of $2400 enrolled in the study of agriculture or an agriculture related field.  The application is open to seniors.  Please click HERE to view more information about the scholarship and to either complete the application online or download the pdf form of the scholarship.


8) Georgia Mining Foundation Scholarship Program

-High school seniors attending schools in counties where the companies maintain mining operations are eligible to apply.  The deadline for the application is February 19, 2021.  To assist worthy students in Georgia with college tuition, the Georgia Mining Foundation was established with a $40,000 scholarship fund to be distributed as individual $500 scholarships. In addition to these individual $500 scholarships, the Foundation will also be giving away three (3) $1,000 scholarships to be paid out over two years ($500 a year for two years).

1/11/2021 Paying for College Night

On Monday, January 11th, 2021, at 6pm PHS will host our annual Paying for College Night.  Marcus Hillard, a Financial Aid Consultant with the Georgia Student Finance Commission, will present general information regarding how to pay for college such as the financial aid process, types and sources of funding, as well as options for both federal and state funding.  The presentation is expected to last from 45-60 minutes.  We plan on meeting virtually via Zoom.  As we get closer to the event the PHS counselors will send out a link for you and your family to join the Zoom meeting.  We ask that you please use your Chromebook and student email address to sign up and partake in this virtual meeting.  Please click on the following link and fill out the questionnaire to sign up to attend the event:
