Dr. Wendy Arnold

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! I am excited for the opportunity to start my 27th year in public education, and continue in my role as Assistant Principal in the Pickens County School District.  It is my privilege to serve the students, staff, and parents of this beautiful community.

I was born and raised in the metro Atlanta area, but have been a resident of Pickens County for the past 6 years. I am thrilled to now work in this community. I have two grown children and an amazing granddaughter who is the joy of my life.

I received my Bachelors, Masters, and Education Leadership degrees and certification from the University of West Georgia. I received my Specialist and Doctorate from Northcentral University.

Prior to joining the PHS administrative team, I worked in several metro school systems as a teacher of students with disabilities, athletics coach, and in various administrative roles. Most recently I worked in Fulton County, where I served as part of the special education administrative team. I am fortunate at this point in my career to have taught or served as an administrator in grades P-12 and served in the settings of general education, special education, CTI, alternative school, hospital/homebound, and correctional facilities. I value all of the life experiences I have gained through these roles.

I love the three As – academics, arts, and athletics, and look forward to being involved with these programs at Pickens High School. You will see me at just about every school event; I hope to have the opportunity to meet you there!

Together we can create a positive environment for our students to learn and thrive.
