Carissa Parker, CTAE Director

As we begin the 2023-24 school year, I am excited to serve the students of Pickens County as the Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) Director! I will also continue to coordinate the Work-based Learning and Youth Apprenticeship programs.

I am very proud to be a native of this wonderful community and to call Pickens High School my alma mater. I went on to earn my Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Kennesaw State University in 2000. I then earned my Master's Degree in Special Education from the University of North Georgia in 2003 and my Educational Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont College in 2007. This is my 23rd year in education, all of which I've spent here at PHS.

My background also includes Business Education, Marketing Education, and Special Education. I have been fortunate to spend the last seventeen years of my career working in a field that I love and am passionate about . . . CTAE!  I am happy to play a role in helping our students discover and explore career opportunities while they work to develop both technical and soft skills. My goal is to help our students prepare for whatever comes next, be it post-secondary education (technical, college or university) or the workforce.
